WIP Synyster Gates

This is work in progress, something a bit different for me just a pity I had to use somebody else's photos to paint a famous musician.
For those who don't know it's Synyster Gates guitarist in Avenged Sevenfold (A7x)

I'm greatly appreciative of everyone who has taken the trouble to view, fave and comment on my work this past year.
Even throughout my less productive weeks there has still been a flow of support which I value immensely.
So thanks everyone, I'm really happy to be part of this supportive community.
I love to see your creations as well and have found so much to inspire and interest me, not just in your art, but YOU as lovely people too.

I am a happy, spiritual, artistic and inspirational person. I love being with other creative and colourful characters, musicians, poets, and people who can 'think out of the box'.
I am very much a 'free spirit' and value my independence and just want to enjoy life, doing the things I love, and having friends to share special moments with.

I enjoy the challenge of using different materials and acquiring the technical skills to create my works of art. There are still many things I want to learn.

In the past I worked as an Art Therapist in the NHS (UK) mainly with people who had learning disabilities and additional health needs.

Now I've got the time to create my own art rather than watch and facilitate others with their creativity and self-expression.

Hello!Nice to hear from you. I hope the wedding that was taking up your time in June went off well.
I've had a lot of visitors coming and going as it's been a good summer here so it has been lovely to see my friends and family, but it's meant that I haven't been doing much art work apart from photography.
I've got 2 new paintings on the go now though, one of which is Synyster Gates which is why I've faved a few pictures recently.... to get a 'feel' of the subject. Just a pity I'd never get the opportunity to take my own photos to work from, so I'm trying to think of ways to create something a little different from just copying pics and calling them Fan Art.

The wedding went very well :D Thanks for your thoughts!
Sounds like you've had a great summer despite not being able to paint much. I didn't really get much art finished in quiet awhile so I know how that feels. I hope we'll be able to share some work with each other again soon! Take care!

Today I went to the warehouse open day that belongs to my favorite shop. It was great to see the larger specimens of rocks, crystal caves, fossils, semi precious stones etc. I came away with a lump of Labradorite which is one of my faves..... so although very inspiring it was a diversion from painting which I hope to get back to tomorrow or Wednesday. Also, I've offered to help a retired gentleman I know, who wants to take up art as a hobby. He said he'd tried classes before but he didn't think he learned anything, so I guess I can do better than that plus it's always good for me when somebody is painting in my studio with me...... think I'll have to tone done my music choice for him though

Oh that sounds awesome! I used to love having friends around working on art in the same room as I. I no longer have any artistic friends in my area so I'm usually alone with my work but I know how enjoyable it can be. I hope you both have a lot of fun!

I took all those butterfly pictures on Saturday in my garden, it was warm and sunny and my garden is semi-wild with well stocked plants that attract butterflies, bees and insects. I've had hundreds of butterflies this last few days I can hardly believe it myself, and so far this week I've counted 8 different varieties. I'm close to a forest, agriculture and animal farmland as well as the coast so seems like I've got the perfect habitat for butterflies. I like that Portulaca flower of yours, very vibrant. Thanks for the faves on my pics too

Sounds like you live in a "Fantasy Land", Sue,
for a photographer. There must be a lot to see.
We barely see anything here on the New
England coast but Monarchs. Lots of Monarchs.

I"ll bet some day we see pictures of those farm
animals too. Horses, would be nice. :)

Wow. A Zoo so close - That's got to be
great. I like the Cats best of all. I
have 6 here that think they are monsters
except for the fact that they're all
afraid of anything bigger than their heads.
(and some things that are smaller).
Still, they are very proud and they allow
us to love them unconditionally.

We know a field where there are a gazillion
Monarchs, at the right time of year. Here's
a picture. We have others. You can point the
camera anywhere and catch more than one in
the shot.[link]

I have done the Photoshop work on all of
these photos out at LadyGarbanzo's gallery.
Being careful to make them just the way she
wants.
